First in a news British police procedural series featuring Scotland Yard Detective Duncan Kincaid and his assistant, Sargeant Gemma Jones. This struck me as a poor man’s Elizabeth George; the relationship between the two leads reminded me very much of Detective Thomas Lynley and his sergeant Barbara Havers, albeit decidedly less complicated. I read this book years ago & read the first few books in the Kincaid-James series before getting so behind in it that I stopped completely. For a while now, I've been wanting to start over & finally got the chance.
