Twilight has become a phenomenon, a dream of Stephanie Meyer's transformed into a bestseller. After every man, woman and dog (okay, slight exaggeration) had been sucked into the twilight vortex, I finally surrendered to peer pressure (from my over 40 Aunt) and devoured "a vampire story for people who don’t like vampire stories."
I must admit, the plot of hot vampire Edward Cullen, falling for ordinary girl Bella Swan, was extremely appealing.
The book is marketed at Young Adult readers but as a '

I must admit this is my second reading of the book. The first time I only read half. I have seen the movie three times and have no doubt I will see it again with my girls and son who also loved it.
Seeing the movie is what inspired me to read the book and I'm glad I did. There have been so many reviews that there is nothing I can add that hasn't already been said. Great book!

I first started reading this book to find out what the hype is about. In two days I read 320 pages into it and I came to the conclusion that the book is okay, but that there are a couple of flaws in the way it is written..

(is it just me, or is it hard to decipher action sequences in this book? I can't seem to picture the logical flow in my head.)

From an adult perspective, this book is horribly irresponsible. This is not the kind of relationship people should be striving for, and because of that, in some ways I feel like teenaged girls should not be reading it. I’m not for censorship, so the kiddies can read what they want, but they should all really talk to their parents about the book afterwards. Edward is controlling, manipulative, threatening, and stalkery. Not the kind of man y’all want to be with, ladies! But don’t forget! He is be ...more

While it brought me back to highschool and was typically out of the genre I usually read, Twilight was not as bad as expected, especially due to the hype surrounding it. It took some time for me to get into the story knowing the secret behind it all, but as I read more I started to enjoy it more, especially the dramatics toward the end helped me keep reading without putting it down. And most likely, I will end up going to see the movie when it is released as well just to compare.
