What Members Thought

While I felt I was missing something having not read the Clockwork Boys series first, I don’t think it was without enough exposition that could make the story less good. That all being said, this was another wonderful romantic adventure like only T Kingfisher can write. I love her characters, her world building, and stories. For fans of the Paladin Series, this will absolutely satisfy

Edit(10/8): ok I’ve taken some time to process so I’ll review the rest of the book.
2.5/5 stars. I wasn’t a fan of this one as much as the Clocktaur Wars or A Wizards Guide to Defensive Baking. (5/5 books for me).
The main character was slightly too quirky for my taste and I’m glad for the age representation but it felt like she was 50 instead of 36.

DNF chapter 13.
Nothing is happening. Its just a bunch of inner monologue and then awkward interaction in the attempt to be funny. Also why do I want to read about (view spoiler) . The FMC was like that flustered clueless main character in a movie where she's just so quirky and awkward but in reality like really, really pretty. ...more

Very cozy, very funny. I laughed out loud a few times reading this. I loved the banter of the main characters. I enjoyed the premise of the book and hope T. Kingfisher releases more in this series.
Additionally, I listened to the audiobook version of this book and really enjoyed the narrator. She sounded exactly how I thought the main character should sound like and she made all of the characters have different voices and personalities.
