OKAY OKAY OKAY!
Miles, I wasn’t familiar with your game and for that I apologize for grouping you with ain’t shit men.
Anyway, the romance was splendid but that wasn’t the highlight of the book for me. The true highlight is watching Daphne, rebuild and rediscover herself. Too many times, in real life, women lose themselves in their relationship for the sake of their partners. But seeing Daphne build new friendships, stand up to her ain’t shit father, and fall in love with a city that wasn’t fami ...more

Ugh. I honestly don’t think Henry can do no wrong. I loved, loved, loved this. I just love the writing, and just how easy it is to read. And while i can see how it ends right from the start, I just let these books take me on the journey and they never disappoint.
One of the things that I really loved about Henry’s other books were the banter between the two main characters. Always funny and smart and quick witted. I was surprised this didn’t have the great banter I have come to love, but instead ...more

this one was about heartbreak, growth, family, and friendships. the older you get, the more you understand the value of friendships, and i loved the slowly building found family in this book.

“I didn’t learn what love was supposed to feel like. It doesn’t feel natural, or come easily to me, to let anyone close. But you—you make love so easy, Daphne. You make me think I already deserve it, exactly how I am.”
when i tell you emily henry never misses, she never fucking misses. her writing is so funny and witty, but also, at times, heartbreakingly gut-wrenching; this book is nothing short of that. this book truly reminded me why emily is my all-time favorite author. she’ ...more
