I’m honestly not sure about this one
I finished it in 2 days, which is good for me, but I don’t know if I find the story very good.

•Characters•

Jude
She’s a very complex character. I love a lot of her traits and I really relate to her. She’s smart, strong, flawed and real. I liked how she always stood her ground and always fought her way through it. Through the book I really grew fond of her, but towards the end she turned stone cold. I always find that incredibly awful to read about, when a l 3.5⭐️

Jude

I liked how she always stood her ground and always fought her way through it. Through the book I really grew fond of her, but towards the end she turned stone cold. I always find that incredibly awful to read about, when a loving character turns hard and emotionless. How she acted wasn’t strange though (with being betrayed by Madoc, Taryn, Locke, and having to change drastically in order to be a good spy for Dain). But it did make me love the ending of this book less, since I wanted the best for Jude only for her to end up depressed.

Cardan
Diva honestly. He was an ass and should’ve treated Taryn and Jude better in the beginning, but I loved him in part 2. It’s clear he’s smitten with Jude (until the ending obviously) and im loving it. I hope he will become less enraged with her in the next book since he has so much potential. What annoyed me was that in part one of the book he had like 5 lines and was in about 9% of the pages. He was a side character and really absent, I wouldve loved to have seen more of him.

Jude+Cardan
The 3 seconds of romance they had was GREAT, but the straight up hatred for each other in the remaining 98% of the book was not fun. They better both cheer up soon or im gonna dnf this series. I understand that this is a political fantasy series and not a romance, but seeing them straight up despising each other is very unpleasant and unenjoyable to read about. So just kiss and make up already PLEASE🙏🙏

Also, I LOVED oriana she was so real

•The plot•
Honestly half of the time I was barely understanding what was happening. But it was really gripping, I constantly wanted to know what would happen next. I just felt like the plot was kind of all over the place. It was chaotic and hard to follow imo. I could tell it was well thought out but the execution could’ve been better.

I’m a little disappointed since it’s so hyped up, but I did enjoy reading it. Its definitely not bad, just also not a favorite for me. ...more

this book was really good, don’t get me wrong, but there was nothing that made it stand out as special or extraordinary. the characters were very well written. especially jude who i didn’t like at the beginning but towards the end she developed a sort of villain arc i really enjoyed. and the romance was really good :). overall i really enjoyed it and am excited to read the next one.

Me gustó, pero no me sorprendió.

Algunos personajes no están bien desarrollados y no se habla mucho del mundo (es entendible porque es el primer libro)

Amo que en un inicio la relación de las hermanas me recordaba a mujercitas.
(Odio a Taryn)

Solo q me decepcionó un poco porque este libro me lo vendieron como un REAL ENEMIES TO LOVERS, pero (SPOILER) se besan en este primer libro sin ningún motivo..
Sin embargo, al final pasa un suceso q supongo q los vuelve enemies…

~ A lot of people would probably say they didn't like Carden but I Loved him and they way he was at the end. In the beginning I didn't like him so much because of what he did but even then you could still tell he cared about her. I wasn't a big fan of Locke but he was still so sweet in the beginning did not like what happend with him at the end which caused me not to like him as much. Overall I really enjoyed reading through this adventure of a book cannot wait to read the other two! ~ ...more

Loved our main character Jude she is bold, strong and determined. This book took me by surprise with the ending.

Reread: after re reading this book I fell more in love with then the first time. Everything about this book is magical. Jude is just has determination and dangerous. The little sprinkle of romance is everything !!!
