A new favorite! The Socs vs the Greasers didn't really feel like a war between gangs (take for instance West Side Story's the Sharks vs the Jets). This was more of a fight to belong and be accepted without prejudices. Sad ending with a valuable lesson:

“ Stay gold , Poneyboy. Stay gold”. Such a beautiful story about retaining one’s innocence . I first read this book in middle school and enjoyed it ; but it wasn’t till I became an adult that this book changed my life . I love this book so much it’s incredibly thought provoking and insightful into an adolescents mind . I really connected to it.
