I finally read The Cuckoo's Calling! I don't know why I have put it off for so long but I finally got to it and loved it!

Crime fiction isn't something I would usually gravitate towards but I read Rivers of London a few months ago and loved it, and was looking for something similar on my book shelves so thought I'd try this. This is definitely more of a detective novel that a crime as there isn't the gory descriptions of forensics that go on in crime books. This felt more like a modern-day Sher ...more

4.5-- took me way too long to read this, not the books fault. It is entirely my own fault. I loved this and cannot wait to continue in the series.

Shelves: read-own, rc, douche-bag-hero

Tohle nemohla napsat Rowlingová. Ten styl mi vůbec nepřišel jako ona (a to jsem četla Prázdné místo). Nevím. Nicméně mě kniha příjemně překvapila - vraha jsem ze začátku vůbec neodhadla a až na pár věcí jsem byla až do konce napjatá jak šňůra. Cormoran je skvělej, sympaťák a vážně mi sedl. To už se tolik nedá říct o Robin, kterou jsem brala spíš jako zástěrku. Ani mi nevadilo, že tam není tolik akce, mám přesně tenhle styl vyšetřování ráda.
