Third book in the Clifton Chronicles. Giles inherits the family title instead of Harry and then his wife turns out to be an evil bitch, Lady Virginia, is old school evil and bars the Cliftons and Grace from the wedding. The book ends with Bruno and Seb driving to Wimbleton while a lorry looks like its about to run them off the road.

I know there's another Clifton Chronicles from the way this book ended. The illusions of Youth cause bad decisions and the inevitable "it won't happen to me" syndrome to live on. Especially when being plotted against by evil people. I don't like books that end this way, but some just do.

The Harry Clifton saga/soap opera continues. A lot of the book focuses on Harry's son Sebastian. The series continues its downward spiral for me. Not really caring about the next generation of characters and the cliff hanger at the end of the book again? Yeah, I over that, going to take a break from the series for a bit...

I would've given this three stars because it feels a bit soap opera ish at time, but Archer is just an awesome storyteller. This takes us through Harry and Emma's children's childhoods, Giles' political challenges, and a telenovela cliffhanger.
