ADOREI esse livro. Melhores personagens!! Posso ver a influência que essa obra teve em diversos outros livros escritos posteriormente.
Até a metade do livro é um pouco complicado de entender o que está acontecendo ou mesmo prever o que irá acontecer. Depois que as coisas começam a esquentar é impossível parar de ler. O livro engana a gente direitinho. Começa lentamente, despretensioso, mas chega no final e POW, você nem sabe o que aconteceu. Mais um livro para incluir como um dos que tem os melho ADOREI esse livro. Melhores personagens!! Posso ver a influência que essa obra teve em diversos outros livros escritos posteriormente.

O livro engana a gente direitinho. Começa lentamente, despretensioso, mas chega no final e POW, você nem sabe o que aconteceu. Mais um livro para incluir como um dos que tem os melhores plot twists. Eu contei pelo menos três muito legais.
O Kelsior é um dos personagens mais legais que eu já li. Ele é misterioso, espirituoso, esperançoso e compassivo. O autor consegue esconder qual é o seu plano durante o livro inteiro, mas ao mesmo tempo dá diversos sinais que você só vai entender quando tudo for revelado. Adorei acompanhar a jornada dele. Principalmente quando ele estava tutorando a Vin. O relacionamento irmão/pai/mentor que ele tinha com ela foi a melhor parte do livro para mim.
Eu gostei da Vin, mas confesso que por horas ela me incomodava um pouco com as adolescentices dela. O que é super compreensível considerando que quando o livro começa ela tem 16 anos. Os momentos de aprendizado dela são muito legais de acompanhar e quando chegamos ao final é perceptível o seu desenvolvimento. Já está mais madura e confiante. Espero muitas coisas dela para os próximos livros.
Não posso deixar de mencionar o Sazed. AMO o Sazed. A maioria dos melhores insights do livro vieram dele e adorei todas as conversas que ele tinha com o Kelsior e a Vin.
Os demais integrantes da trupe são fantásticos também, mas exceto quando estão ensinando algo para a Vin ou em reuniões, eles não tiveram uma participação muito memorável. Sinto que nos próximos estarão mais no primeiro plano.
Obviamente terei que falar do sistema de magia mais interessante que li até hoje. Não é tão simples de entender, mas é muito legal!! Esse esquema de ingerir os metais é do além. Não sei de onde que o Brandon Sanderson tirou essa idéia, mas é genial. Minha recomendação para entender mais rápido como funciona é de ler o glossário no final do livro enquanto o Kelsior explica para a Vin como as coisas funcionam.
Eu já tinha ouvido falar que o livro era bem auto-contido na sua história. Ele tem começo, meio e fim e poucas coisas ficam em aberto. O legal é que esse pouco que fica em aberto é o suficiente para me fazer ter muita vontade de continuar a série. Além do meu amor pelos personagens, é claro!
Para qualquer amante de fantasia esse livro é leitura obrigatória. ...more

I really, really enjoyed this. And I looooved certain aspects of it. I absolutely adored the characters. Vin, Kelsier, Dockson, Sazed, and Elend were all such amazing people. They were great characters and I loved reading their interactions and how they helped one another, worried for each other, and joked with each other. I also loved Vin and Kelsier's relationship.
I loved the magic, and the descriptions of the mist. I loved the suspense, and all the twists towards the end. I loved t 4.5 stars!

I really, really enjoyed this. And I looooved certain aspects of it. I absolutely adored the characters. Vin, Kelsier, Dockson, Sazed, and Elend were all such amazing people. I loved the magic, and the descriptions of the mist. I loved the suspense, and all the twists towards the end. I loved the world as a whole, and slowly learning about the different kinds of people who lived in it.
I also loved the log entries before each chapter, and what we learned about it. OH MY LORD RULER, WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT IT!!!!

The things I didn't like so much, were I felt that sometimes the scenes dragged and were longer than they needed to be. Sometimes when they were talking about their plan, and they didn't yet know what they were going to do, they brainstormed a lot and I felt it was unnecessary and a little boring. It also bothered me that I still don't even really know what a Skaa is. Do they look different? Do they have different coloured skin than the noblepeople? How do people know who a Skaa is and who isn't if they don't look different? What made the Skaa end up in their positions? Do half breeds look more like noblemen than skaa? ARE THEY EVEN DIFFERENT AT ALL?? lol

Sometimes I felt a little lost and confused when they were talking about the magic system (not all the time; most the of the time I followed it easily) but sometimes when we learned something knew, it was explained in a way that just didn't really help me understand it frustrated me.

I also thought the idea of the mist cloak needed more explanation. How do you get one? Because if you can just make one, or buy one, why wouldn't anyone just wear one? Makes no sense. Also, I know they say in the book that mistborns wear them so others will stay out of their way, but why would you want to advertise it? Why not take people by surprise? Also anyone could just wear one lol.

I think those were my only problems with it. I really liked this book. I'm also glad that it took me so long to read it because I got to stay in the world longer and hang out with the characters for more time. It was a great book.

Also someone please make this into a TV show. I would watch the sh*t out of it. ...more

This book was everything I wanted! I am so glad that I FINALLY picked it up because it was amazing. The characters, the banter, and the world will greatly appeal to fans of fantasy and heist books. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series -- must find out what happens next!

This started out really slow for me. I can normally get though a book pretty quickly this took me over a month to read because I would try to read a chapter and then get sleepy. I didn't get into the book until the end of part 4. It got really good then. I don't understand why people are raving so much about it. It was good but not the greatest book ever. I think it would make a better movie. ...more
