What Members Thought
I'm conflicted about this book. I had very high expectations, and unfortunately, I felt this book didn't live up to the hype. Here's a few reasons I just couldn't give this book five stars, even though the ending was awesome:
- No female characters besides Vin, who was kind of an emo kid imo. I understand why she was like that, but it's not very interesting when it's mentioned for the tenth time. And there's no other ladies protagonist, just a bunch of dudes. What? Why?

This was amazing!!! I had heard so many good things about Brandon Sanderson but had never read anything by him. After a ton of booktube videos and tumblr post saying great things about his work, and the covers of this book was interesting. The magic system was fascinating, you learned about it along with our protagonist. The writing was so good, I cared actually was invested in the characters, every death.... It hurt a lot. After hearing nothing but good things about Sanderson via both book blogging on wordpress and also booktubers on youtube, I decided to finally pick up the first of his Mistborn trilogy. It then proceeded to sit on my shelf for a few months before I got around to it.
