I believe American Dirt had some controversy around it. As the world is so full of controversy right now, I didn’t dig into what the controversy was so I could just focus on the book. Maybe someday I will look into it further.

This book is probably the most relevant book of our time. It is very well-written and realistic. You will be immediately captivated by the characters despite the haunting story. This is a MUST READ if you really want to understand the reality of what so many people could be experiencing RIGHT NOW. And yes, I get the controversy. A lot of people are not comfortable facing an ugly reality. Bravo to this courageous and very skilled writer. I'll read everything the author turns out in the future. ...more
