I'm ashamed to admit that even though I consider myself a science fiction reader, I've never read Dune. I'm not exactly sure why. I kept reading the blurb and thinking oh okay, I guess that can be cool in a way? I've heard about the gigantic worms and the litany against fear, but little did I know I was missing out on something that will turn into one of my favourite books of all time.

So the first 40% of it was stellar. Top notch. 5 stars. The next 60% was unbearable. Disappointing.
