My nieces have been pressing me to read this for a long time and I finally got it. It's a good book, but I must confess I felt like I was reading something from Beverly Cleary for the first 250 pages. I nearly put it down, but suddenly it picked up. Come on! There are so many kick ass Vampire books out there, how in the world can this one be so popular?! And I am sorry no Mormon could possibly write a book that was any good about Vampires. You want a good vampire series? Read the Anita Blake series, now those are Vampire books!

For the most part this was a fairly good book. But I don't think that I would read it again. It is about a teenage girl that looses her head because she thinks she is in love.
However, being a good book and the author being a good writer are two totally different things! In my opinion, Stephenie Meyers isn't a very good author and needs to learn some more writing techniques. She can write one type of book: love angst. It is always: "I love you" "I'm dangerous." "But I still love you" "No I'm bad ...more
