Okay. I think for someone who doesn't read pretty much any sci-fi (me) this book was surprisingly good. There was a lot of science but Weir still somehow made it very interesting. We're basically taken on a, what I would consider, very common sci-fi plot - earth is doomed, scientist trying to find cure/resolution, lots of sci-fi problems arise. I was going back and forth between 4 and 5 stars on this one. I really enjoyed the book. The story is unique and entertaining. The reason I took one star away is just that I found myself zoning out for long portions of the book that focus on calculations and chemistry. If you are into a lot of logistics in your sci-fi, I think you'll love this book.
