Okay. I think for someone who doesn't read pretty much any sci-fi (me) this book was surprisingly good. There was a lot of science but Weir still somehow made it very interesting. We're basically taken on a, what I would consider, very common sci-fi plot - earth is doomed, scientist trying to find cure/resolution, lots of sci-fi problems arise. A junior high teacher is in space trying to save the world. I liked it!
This is a different genre for me, but I enjoy it. I’ll admit to skimming past some of the math passages but I was still able to keep a sense of what was happening. I loved Rocky and I love Weir’s imagination for how things could/may be.
