This book definitely took me for a whirlwind. It started off slower, building all the pieces up towards the beginning and middle of the book. Things really didn’t start to align honestly towards the latter part and I see why the author did that in a way. Certain things were a little more obvious in my opinion and had an inclination about a certain character, but I definitely was not prepared for what was to come.

The “Final Girl” horror concept was an interesting aspect of the novel. This was my

Ok, I know everyone says this, but this book really took me by surprise. I absolutely loved the way the book read. It was almost Halloween-Esq (or like most slasher flicks) as it went from the present day, and then back to what happened on that night. This book delves deeper into the Final Girl.

It’s about a group of college friends away for the weekend in a cabin in the woods. (Sound familiar). Going back to the incident they set up all the characters, and we can peek into their personalities. T

I had the hardest time listening to this one. It just wouldn't pick up, and the plot felt like it had no purpose. The characters were super boring and slightly annoying. I tried my best to finish this but I wanted to listen to other things, so I just looked up the ending, and I can tell you this, it is kind of dumb. If I had finished, maybe the end would have been written all right but to have to get 2/3 of the way through the book to make it enjoyable is just not worth it for me. ...more

I love Riley Sager- but this one took a little too long to get off the ground. I like the Final Girls premise- but the execution was just too long. The development and revelation of the twist and turn was too delayed.

It took me a long time to finish this book, and not because it wasn’t interesting, life just gets in the way and I was in a major reading slump. I was annoyed with Samantha Boyd/Tina up until the final chapters. Quincy and I definitely had a love hate relationship, but when I tell you that I honestly never saw what truly happened at Pine Cottage coming, I mean that with every cell in my body. Talk about emotional whiplash!
