As one of the top books of last year on multiple lists and the best book here on Goodreads, I expected a book that would be challenging and one that makes you think. I love reading about craazy women lol
I love reading about craazy women lol
My first foray into audiobooks. I liked the narrator of this book and felt she really captured the main character. A different experience to reading, or even listening to a podcast which is a comparative medium, but still also quite different! The book itself is well crafted and thought provoking. But it does drag a bit in places.
This book was a wild ride from start to finish with a deeply unlikeable protagonist you couldn’t tear your eyes away from. I don’t think I’ll stop thinking about this book for a very long time. This is my first R.F. Kuang book but it certainly won’t be my last.
It’s really hard for me to read a book where you are actively rooting against the main charecter. It was an interesting view on racism and loneliness. It was really hard for me to get through (which I know is the point). But just not my personal cup of tea.

What a great book! Really made me think and it was so fun to discuss with my book club. I loved the insight into the publishing industry and the love to hate protagonist. It kept me guessing and reflecting. I've really never read anything like it.
