In my personal opinion I would say that the first half or so of the book was very slow. Whether that was good for the world building or not, I'm still unsure as I process. However things immediately picked up towards the latter half-3/4 of the story and it has me hooked! I would absolutely recommend this series, as I can't wait to read the next book in it that I've heard so many good things about!
