4.75 stars!! I have been hearing mixed things about this book but personally I loved it. I think Emily Henry is truly a master at her craft and she writes romance books unless anyone else.
Personality wise, Miles has been my favourite Emily Henry book boyfriend. He is golden retriever level happy, but he listens to sad songs, watches rom coms, works at a winery and has tattoos. 4.5 FINALLY a book that took me out of my slump!
although some of the conflict was unnecessary, i absolutely LOVED this book. the characters and their banter made me audibly laugh out loud and i loved how daphne was able to change into a stronger person by the end of the book. i absolutely adore miles and the speech he gave daphne towards the end🩷. this book gives major new girl vibes too! emily henry continues to be an instant buy author for me and i doubt that will ever change.
Emily Henry has done it once again with Funny Story!!! Oh my gosh when I tell you that this book has landed in my top 5 for this year I’m being completely honest. While reading, I caught myself laughing, sobbing, giggling and kicking my feet, etc etc. also the characters were so so relatable which I LOVE!!! I have no idea how Emily Henry keeps releasing actual BANGERS. At the rate she writes, you would expect a couple of bad ones, but they are all amazing and so genius. I enjoy how they are all centered around books and reading, but they don't have the same tone or characters, each story is unique.

Nothing like starting summer off with a new Emily Henry book.
I don't think I'll ever get enough of her writing. It's so witty and passionate and everything that a modern romance novel should be. The plot of this book was hilariously unfortunate, but I enjoyed every second of watching it unfold. I love our main character Daphne, and the dynamic between her and Miles. there is a high chance i am looking at this book through a mildly rose tinted glass because emily henry wrote my favourite romance of all time (book lovers) but the tint only added a 0.5 so it is alright. I absolutely adored the two characters. the jouney and development daphne goes through during the span of this book was so well written
