This book discusses the history of spinning and weaving from Paleolithic times through close to the end of the BCE timeline - most of its focus is on the Bronze Age, especially around the ancient Mediterranean. It talks about the archaeology behind figuring out what textiles ancient people created, and the author does know how to spin and weave, so she can really speak to the details of the process. Loved it. I was worried it would get tedious, but there’s just enough tangents and factoids for us nerds without getting off topic.

Only qualms, which are minor, are the audiobook narrator is a little robotic and sometimes the author circles back in her writing to the point where I got confused if I had already read the chapter.

Otherwise lots of fun and validation for women’s work!
