This book lives up to the hype! I don't even know how to sum up my thoughts into a review. I feel like other stalker/mystery man book I've read feature a FMC with no regard for her own andsafety, but Aly's hesitation and fear at the beginning of the book was realistic and made the story feel more whole. I loved the flirty banter between the characters and the little plot twist in the middle of the book, and I had a hard ...more

Duuuude… if he wanted to he would! This was sooooo friggin' good. I audibly laughed (many times), kicked my feet, and was so into this banter. SLAY. I read somewhere some people were comparing this to Butcher and Blackbird, or Haunting Adeline... No... This book stands on its own in the dark romance sector. These characters had depth with their traumas and had a realistic vantage point of how people process some of these things, like hiding away from people, or overworking as a distraction, and

"He'd dragged me out of the gray world I'd been living in and taught me how to see colors again."
This quickly became one of my all-time favorite reads! It had the perfect balance of funny and cute, to dark and real. It had me laughing out loud, kicking my feet, blushing, panicked, worried, & nervous. Highly HIGHLY recommend!!

Is it spicy? Yes. Are the characters cringe? Also, yes.
I have mixed feelings. I don’t think it’s a great read and the hype from TikTok is what got me interested. I’ll probably continue to read the books but it’s almost embarrassing to acknowledge that I read them. Not because of the stigma of “booktok” but because the writing isn’t good.

Love that the main characters actually discussed consent in this book and talked about STD’s, and pregnancy prevention. A character even corrected another character that said the term “hookers” by saying they were actually called “sex workers”. 🙌🏼 There’s a line between the predator/prey kink, and just straight up sexual violence/ r*p3. Glad the author was able to discuss consent through it, and I felt like the exchange of power was fair - unlike a lot of dark romance or kink books.
