This book was written for me! I'm claiming stake here....!! I couldn't have picked it up at a more appropriate time when the isolation from working from home, and everything else happening around the world has made it incredibly hard to hope and imagine a beautiful future. I plan to read this book every year to bring fresh perspective to my life, push through existing challenges because one doesn't know what the end will be like. But itsn't that the beauty of life? We owe ourselves the work and ...more

It's interesting, well written with a complexity that gives the book tremendous depth. But the concept and subject matter didn't work for me. Others though have loved it. ...more

I’d never read Matt Haig before The Midnight Library. So glad I picked up this quirky, thought provoking novel examining the complexity of regret and success. Check it out!

I was disappointed with this book. The blurb looked so good. I'd read a similar book and it hung in my mind for years. This one I found rather mundane. I thought it missed creative opportunities. ...more

This was one of the best books I’ve had the pleasure of listening too. Wow.

Update: I needed another listen and it's still such a great book

I thought I was going to LOVE this book. The concept was so intriguing the reviews were great; however, I was not that impressed. The first half of the book was really good and then the last part of the book just fell apart for me. I felt like the author got tired of writing the story and just zipped right through to get it over with. I wish my feelings were different, but expectations were not met!

Unpopular opinion alert!

The Midnight Library bored my socks off. I typically listen to an audiobook every two or three days. This one took a full week… and it wasn’t even very long! Even saying that, this is not a bad book! I just expected more after reading tons of rave reviews…

Between life and death there is a library where each book provides a change to try another life you could have lived. What would you have done different if you had a chance to undo your regrets? Nora finds herself face

The first chapter or two was incredibly engaging, pulled me right in. However the message of the book was pretty heavy handed and overly explained which made the rest of the read kind of rough to get through. Still an interesting book I just wish it had been more subtle with things instead of drilling it home.

Even so it was a quick read so not too much of a time investment and an interesting premise.
