Lale Sokolov contacted the author to tell her the story of his Halocaust years in captivity. Because he was able to speak six languages he is assigned to the position of tattooist. While a grisly job, it allows him a few perks. He is a smart, nimble worker, helper, and survivor. He recants the horrors of his three years as a prisoner.

These stories are so important. We need to remember what people are capable of and never let it happen again. Lale’s life was something else and he was so brave. I’m so glad he was able to share his story with the author so we could read it!
