This book was an eye opener. Not that I am as bad as Scrooge , but sometimes in the hussle bussle of day to day life , we tend to be self occupied , a teeny bit selfish and somewhat greedy. Reading the man Scrooge was , and the dramatic change he underwent on Christmas Eve , makes me optimistic about the humankind. Christmas Eve is the best night to read this delightful story of the dangers of how people can waste their life - and so I have, again.
Yes, the writing style is of its age, but that's part of its charm.
I've always loved the message and wish everyone would heed its importance.

The Christmas season isn’t Christmas without reading this book. I laugh and cry ever time I read this book. I love the repentant journey Scrooge encounters. I love his sheer happiness and joy that he has a second chance at life. I hope I can always remember and feel this kind of hope.
I started this in Dec. 2019 but the holiday became too busy for me to finish. I decided it was the perfect way to start the year to encourage me to be kinder and make every day if 2020 better than the d ...more

Just a wonderful story. No matter how many times it has been re-imagined, the original book is just a pleasure. What must it have been like to read this book for the first time when it had just come out? Or hear it read by Charles Dickens every Christmas Eve for a number of years. Even being familiar with the story, it's a must read classic.
