YUM.

This series has quickly become one of my favorites. I literally devoured this book.

ACOMAF picks up right where ACOTAR left off. Feyre is coming to terms with what she did Under the Mountain, and the story focuses on her rediscovering who she is and figuring out how to live her life while burdened with guilt. Maas artistically depicts some of the best character development I've read in a long while, and it was pure magic.

Serious fans of Tamlin probably won't enjoy this boo ...more

This was just as good as the first and I loved how Feyre's relationships with the other characters developed in this book. I also loved how she developed herself. Sometimes writers have something big happen to a character but then the character barely changes or stays the same afterwards. This was not the case here. Everyone was changed by what happened Under the Mountain in the first book and it was interesting to see how it all unfolded. I kind of also love how the good First review: Loved it! Sometimes writers have something big happen to a character but then the character barely changes or stays the same afterwards. This was not the case here. Everyone was changed by what happened Under the Mountain in the first book and it was interesting to see how it all unfolded. I kind of also love how the good guy, Tamlin, became the 'bad guy' because he was damaged and changed by what happened but refused to see it. I was also pleasantly surprised by Rhysand's character development. At first I thought "oh God not another good girl falling for the bad guy" bit. But it worked and I really like how their relationship developed over time.
The plot was good as well. After the defeat of Amaranda in the first book I wondered who, or what, would be the next bad guy or bad thing and loved how it was not just the predictable King of Hybern but also Tamlin and Lucien to some extent. I would really recommend this series.

Okay.
Although this is a little better than the first because we get to see more of the world and there is a bit more plot than the last. This book still has some major issues. The main one being that Feyre is so dull as the main character. We see everything through her eyes, her thoughts and her thoughts are dull. I also did not like that Rhysand was made into this perfect good guy. No. Hell no! He was abusive and cruel Under the Mountain, if he is going to turn out to be a good guy he needs to redeem himself. There needs to be a reason or an apology at least. Something like “Feyre darling, I cannot apologise enough for all that happened, all that I chose to do to you. Being Under that Mountain with her for so long has warped my sense of right and wrong. I am not the person I once was....,” etc etc. Reading about someone who lost themselves to evil and darkness because of the trauma that they endured and then them finding the light and good in themselves again would have been for more interesting. But no. He was just a perfect guy pretending and because he was pretending to be bad and he really is very good it makes it okay that he twisted Feyre’s broken arm when he didn’t have to. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I can’t. Rhys could have been an interesting character. We could have seen Feyre fall in love with that light in him and seen some character development.
Anyway....as much as I still kind of like this book, particularly in the beginning as Feyre realises she doesn’t want to be a pet to Tamlin and to be tapped by him, as she deals with the aftermath of her decisions and experiences Under the Mountain (the most interesting she is throughout this entire series by the way). it just isn’t good in some ways. and just fails epically with Rhys’ character development which could have made it somewhat okay. ...more

I’m trying to get through the series but man reading her is so rough. I’m having a hard time with the constant internal introspection that would be so much more effective as dialogue between characters, and the mahoosive info dumps.
