Olly and Madeline (”Maddy”) were great and so realistic. Actually, all the characters were so well written (and there was some diversity, yay!), it was easy to forget they weren’t actual people while I was reading this. I got sucked in and devoured it in a day. The story itself shocked and excited me; I was on the edge of my seat for the last half of it. The romance was cute and framed within the larger theme of Madeline comi ...more

I'm not a teen so don't know how it would appeal to a younger audience. I frequently read young adult novels and find them to have better content. This story is about a young girl who has SCID and is confined to her room/house for all of her life. We join her at the age of 17. The book deals with secrets and lies. The author focuses on what is living.
