Shelves: fiction, thriller

This was a pretty slow-paced novel. It wasn’t unpleasant, but there wasn’t suspense. I certainly wouldn’t call this a psychological thriller, though that's what it's classified as. The writing was simply okay. The characters were one-dimensional. Overall, the novel was unremarkable- not good, but not awful. The saving grace of this book was the twist, which I hadn't suspected.

An interesting take on a kidnapping story, told in parts from three perspectives in different times (before and after the girl is found); the kidnapper, the detective, and the mother (all done well by three different narrators for the audible recording).

There is a fourth perspective that doesn't occur until the epilogue but you can't really know who as it could spoil things for you. Interesting discoveries in this, some good twists as well. ...more

I just finished The Good Girl on audiobook. It was good, but a pretty basic twisty turny book. I feel like half the new thrillers follow the same pattern these days and will probably completely forget what happened in a month. ...more

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I thought the story was really interesting. Interesting twists and turns. It was a page turner, which is always much appreciated!
