What Members Thought

I used to love it as a child, but I thought it was just okay the last time I read it. That's why I've been feeling reluctant to read it again, but I'm glad I did because I have fallen in love with it again. The only thing I don't like is the racism and stereotype about Indians. At least this book is better than A Little Princess, which is more racist.

Read this when I was a kid, and now reading it again, I can still feel the magic of this story. Mary certainly wasn't a likable child in the beginning but I really love how she slowly transformed into such a lovely little lady after she found the robin. And gosh I love Dickon so much! Now my dream is to have my own secret garden!

Absolutely magical story. I loved how real this story seemed. I connected with the characters easily and the bond they formed was so heartwarming that it made me want to find new adult friendships that have that magic feeling.

I really liked this book. How I never read it earlier is beyond me. Super fast read. Characters were good and believable.
