Let me start by saying that I did enjoy this book, and for a fan, it's a must-read. There is no question about that.

I think my main issue with the book isn't actually the story, but the format. I realise it's a play, but to me it takes away a lot of the character building. Which is natural of course when it comes to plays, and it's one of the reasons to why I actually don't watch plays to begin with.

Rowling has made herself famous for her lovely characters with so much depth, and to me, this fo

4,5 stars. When I started reading this book I didn't really knew what to expect. Yes, I knew it was written as a play but that was all my knowledge I had about. Also I had this book laying around the house for a few months (I bought it on the release date) before I started reading it, I didn't want to be disappointed by the story and ruin my Harry Potter memories.

I quite liked this book actually. The first page I had to get used to the format, but from the second page it was a quick read. This

If you are looking for another Harry Potter installment similar to its predecessors then you'll be sadly disappointed with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts 1 & 2.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts 1 & 2 writing style is completely different, it's in a screenplay format which in itself can be a different experience.

The story doesn't entirely centre around Harry but of his son Albus. While it highlights our favourite characters the focal point is always Albus and his relationship

In my own opinion I think the entire story was a mess. What-have-they-done?!-kind of thought. A time turner? Seriously? It feels like a joke. It's interesting still, more like a fanfiction for me. Scorpius was the best thing ever in this story. But overall it's a good story, it's nostalgic seeing back the characters that I loved. Also, Draco saying that being alone was hard and it will send you to a truly dark place. I really feel the emotion for his part on this. I know there's more to Draco th ...more

I like it. I definitely do not want to label it the 8th Harry Potter book, as it certainly doesn't feel that way. It was definitely enjoyable and I would love to see the play. I don't mind reading plays but I can understand people who don't or haven't not liking this. It's a much more character driven story with less backdrop which I can understand because it's play.

I don't think I'll be rereading this but I'm glad we got a small look at our favorite characters down the line.

This isn't one of J.K. Rowling's best, but still pleasant to read. It's a good taste of Harry Potter for a fan of the Books. Being a play, it didn't give Rowling enough room to work her magic. That made the story or characters feel a bit underdeveloped or corny to me at some points.

Nevertheless, it provides a nice escape from reality. I enjoyed getting lost in the world Rowling's so masterfully created.
