My feelings are all over the place after having finished this book.

I didn't hate it to the greatest extent, but certainly I didn't love it either. I'm of the opinion that the Harry Potter series should have ended with "The Deathly Hallows" and everyone's imagination about what may have happened after the finale should have been left alone. Jack Thorne -or anyone else for that matter- should probably have written a prequel, something that had to do with James Potter for instance or Snape or even

Ok...Uh...Hmm...

I tried so hard to go into this with low expectations because I knew it wasn't going to be another Harry Potter book and I knew it wasn't a novel and there were other people working on it besides J.K. I really wish I could see this performed. Even the descriptions of the magic were so cool. I'm not going to really comment on the story itself since I'm sure no one wants spoilers, but I enjoyed the plot twists and the focus on the relationships of the characters.

(spoilery opinions below)
It felt like a Rowling brain-child with someone else scripting the dialogue and actual characterizations (which is what it was...) so some of the characters definitely felt differ

I liked this book but I was surprised to find that it was written as a screenplay. I think it was more about the relationship between Albus and his father, Harry Potter than the actual plot. After all, Albus has a lot to live up to. I also enjoyed Scorpius' character, which was also surprising since Malfoy is his lineage. I highly recommend it to anyone who has loved the Harry Potter series. ...more

Not sure why this book has so many bad reviews. I loved reading about what life was after the 7th HP book for all the characters and their children. I'd like anything written in the Harry Potter universe though. I'd love to see this play! ...more
