Shelves: kids-science-fiction

I re-read this book, because I remembered reading it as a child, and couldn't remember why I didn't like it very much. Oddly enough, while I'm giving this book four stars, mostly for the sake of nostalgia, I still don't like it, though I understand it better now as an adult, than I did as a child.

A Wrinkle in Time is a complex story, with characters that I absolutely love. Which is oddly what a lot of people don't like about the book. Meg has so much to learn, but she's also so safe and secure i ...more

Re-reading this book was like tessering back to my childhood. This book helped sparked my love of fantasy and science fiction stories. Its the springboard for so many young readers and writers. Granted, there are many outdated references for modern readers. Sometimes the sentence structure could also use a bit of polishing. However, that childhood wonder returned as I explored the stars along with Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. There's so much potential out there, and I think L'Engle br ...more
