I have seen this book floating by quite a few times and I wasn't sure what to think of it. It looked like another fluff Young Adult book like so many others, and, don't get me wrong, in a way it is like so many other books in this genre. But it suprised me, I really enjoyed this story. I liked Mare and liked and disliked both Cal and Maven at times. And although the love triangle is a key part in the story at the same time it isn't the main focus. I don't read a lot of YA, books like this are why. It reads like tired retread of so many other YA stories.

Trite storyline and characters, then a twist! ...but that doesn't rescue this book from being a 2 star. ...more
