Now this was a great book!

And now, let me tell you what makes this a great book, but beware of minor spoilers.

It was not the common parasitic alien invasion theme. It was not the action. And it was not the predictability on some of the scenes to come. No. What made Rick Yancey's book so unbelievably awesome are his characters.

Cassie, Ben, Evan, Sammy, Ringer ... etc. You name one of these characters, and you have named a great character. These people were so believable. They were witty and sarca ...more

My hubs bought me the series in paperback. Great hubby. I’ve wanted to read them for a while. I’ve seen the movie beforehand. I actually like both, movie and book. Book gives the characters depth as more time to develop them. Movie did a good job with the time constraints they are always under.

I love the way the “Others” are portrayed. Who or what could they be. ( not saying loads due to spoilers). The humans are well developed also.

Interesting apocalyptic YA novel, which is set in an environment where it is difficult to tell between aliens and humans. The earth has just suffered through the 4th wave of invasion. What will the 5th wave be? Ok so i finished this ages ago and didnt get around to writing a review till now so my memory of this book is sort of sketchy. Generally however I'm pretty ambivalent in my feelings towards this book. Didn't like it as much as I expected too and couldn't be bothered to finish the series after reading this first book which is pretty weird for me because I'm totally OCD about finishing all the books in a series before moving on to the next.
