Shelves: great-ya-series

This is an amazing book. I saw it in our school library many times and didn't think I was interested. When I finally read it, I couldn't believe I waited so long. A classic, amazing dystopian novel. Lowry gets her point across in such a low key way. This book affected me in ways that most modern dystopian novels never could. I LOVED IT!! ...more

Up until the end of this book I was ready to rate it 4 or maybe even 5 stars. I found the book to be a very easy read with very likeable characters. It was written in such a way that I could visualize the scenes and the characters. BUT the ending! Seriously! I'll be very curious how they make that ending into a movie. The ending really ruined the book for me :( I like a ear ending not one of these "figure it out for yourself" kind of endings. ...more

I’ve been experiencing a bit of a READING SLUMP and this was just the book to get me out of it! It’s a short read and it brings back SOOOOO many memories! I can’t remember the first time I read this book, but I don’t think I’ve ever read the entire series, back-to-back, so this is PERFECT TIMING!!!
