This was such an interesting read. I enjoyed the world Jonas lives in and knowing what is happening in the real world today, I actually think I wouldn't mind living in this utopian community. Maybe I won't like the sameness and being released but I can accept all the others. I can't wait to finish the next 3 books as this book sort of ends with a cliffhanger. This was an easy read and it was not difficult to imagine and construct the world in my mind as I read the book. ...more

The Giver is a dystopian novel that is thought-provoking, intriguing, and disturbing all at the same time. This will be coming to the big screen later this year. I highly recommend that everyone read this book.
