This book excelled any expectations I had for this book. To be honest, when I finished The Hunger Games, I had a sort of preconceived idea of what was going to happen in Catching Fire (basically I just thought Katniss would mentor the following tributes to see the Capitol as bad and do other drastic measures like she did while in the arena). Well, HOLY PLOT TWISTS! Catching Fire excelled these ideas of mine. In fact, I' Please excuse me for a second while I FANGIRL majorly...sdlf;ksjdhfmcjfoieur!

This book excelled any expectations I had for this book. Well, HOLY PLOT TWISTS! Catching Fire excelled these ideas of mine. In fact, I'm glad Suzanne Collins did things so unimaginable and so unthinkable to the readers!

Alright, my fan girl soap box is disappearing so let me get into specifically what I LOVED about this book!
1. The characters were amazing. Suzanne developed the previous characters from The Hunger Games and introduced new characters as well. All of these characters had depth, and I could relate to every one of them. I was super happy that these characters weren't your "cookie-cutter" characters either. I mean, HOW DID SHE THINK OF THESE PEOPLE?? She's pure stinking GENIUS that is why!
2. The dystopian society is CRAY CRAY! I mean it went to a WHOLE new level in this book. I can't say too much more about the society without giving it away. Sorry!
3. Plot twist HEAVEN! You want a book that isn't going to be what you think?? READ THIS BOOK! Totally not like ANYTHING I thought it would be. Suzanne Collins wrote for the GOOD of the book instead of the GOOD of the audience. (You know...those authors who write to keep his/her fans...yeahhh) Oh no, Suzanne wrote to keep this book interesting. Leave you on your toes. All I can say is EXPECT the UNEXPECTED!
4. I have additional things I look about this book, but I'll keep hush hush so as to not spoil it for those who haven't read it yet!

I honestly had nothing that I didn't like about this book...It is perfect. Oh the literary gods are shining down on me today...this book was AMAZING!

Of course, I can't wait to read Mockingjay. However, I'm going to be reading I am Number Four next. I want to give my heart a break or else I will die from a heart attack induced by literature. So, my next review on that. ALSO, I will make a YouTube video review of my channel TOMORROW for Catching Fire. So, those of you who I am friends with on here who are my subscribers can look forward to that!

I reread this book in anticipation for the movie. It made me realize why I love this series so much. All of the characters, even the minor ones, are so detailed and three dimensional. Getting to see all of the past victors from Joanna and Finnick to Beetee to Mags was amazing. Well, I went into this book with false beliefs. I figured, it’s over. Nothing bad is going to happen now, so this is going to be kind of dry and boring. Not what happened at all. After all of the drama created in the first book, I really shouldn’t have been surprised at the way things went in this second book. There was shock and awe, romance and adventure.
