What Members Thought
These books are great for young kids to build their vocabulary, with a fun (perilous) story line to go along with it. Count Olaf is trying to get a hold of the Baudelaire orphans' fortune, and will stop at nothing to reach that goal. I enjoyed the narrators in the audiobook version; they really made you feel like you were a part of the story and they sounded a bit like the characters from the movie.

This was such a great read-aloud with my precocious 7 year old. We both enjoyed the hyperbole and other worldliness of it. So well developed in both story and characters. We will be headed to the library for the next in the series after my daughter finishes reading it for a third time.
Rereading in 2024. I’m not much of a rereader but this is the third time I’m rereading this series. There’s something about it that feels nostalgic to me. And I still enjoy it as much as I did the first time.
