Characters-10The characters in this were great. Anne is a charming character, and definitely a fellow kindred spirit. I enjoyed Marilla and Matthew, and how they treated Anne in this book. Diana was a sweet character, and a great friend to Anne.
Setting/Atmosphere-10I've never been to PEI, but I enjoyed the setting in this. I loved how much of the area you saw through Anne's eyes.

2.5 stars. It's not the writer or the story, it's me. I know this is a beloved classic, and I might have really enjoyed it if I had read it as a child, but now, her incessant ramblings and imagination sprees just annoyed me. (It was interesting to note that by the end of the book, Anne was only 16 1/2 years old, and had already gotten her teaching credit and was going to start teaching the following September. How times have changed.)
