I honestly don't get it why do lots of readers seem to believe that Katniss is at fault for not killing anyone in cold blood - only as mercy, revenge, self-defence etc. People tend to say that it makes the plot too neat and bow-tied for their tastes.
I don't quite agree with such take on it. Katniss was shown as a Human able to retain her humanity even while she is forced into inhuman circumstances. She is shown as stronger of her companions because while they start killing each other like anyma ...more

A little hard to get into at first. As soon as you get about 5 chapters in you can't put it down. Went out the next day bought the second book in the series.

I finally got around to start reading this trilogy. I started at one point earlier but never finished because I was preoccupied, however now that it's going to be a movie soon I figured it was about time to start over.
It's brilliant. I know that people might be weary when it comes to books that are as hyped as The Hunger Games, but this one deserves it.
The book describes a dystopia that is equal parts terrifying and believable, and the character development makes you care.
