Well, this is a story of a girl. What else is new? Everything!

For once, she just happens to be an assassin. Not in a butch unkempt way (that would send princes and knights running... away) but in a girly-girl way, with lots of ruffles, and bodices and cushy things and passion for all the knickknacks. A refreshing approach, I must say. We've got more than our share of girls that kick butt for lunch, kick it for breakfast... Yawnfest. This one makes time for everything!

I really liked the premise of this book. I found myself wanting to know more about the assassin's past as I found it hard to relate to her. Thankfully, we do slowly start to unravel how she came to be this way. I found the real heart of this book and the p.o.v I connected with most, was Captain Westfield. An interesting read with lots of action. ...more
