3.5. I enjoyed the premise of this book and couldn't put it down, however, the main character didn't seem realistic. He kept saying stuff like "based on stupid math", etc. I felt like if I was stuck on Mars, the purpose of the journal is to let others know what might have gone wrong, etc. I would be more professional and say, "according to my calculations..." And seriously, he's an engineer, I'm really assuming he loves math, especially if it is helping to possibly save his life.

I loved this book. Funny and interesting, and even though very technical and over my head in places, I was still able to understand and follow it. I felt like I was holding my breath the whole time, except for when I would burst out laughing. I am about due for a re-read on it actually. :)
This book was fascinating. Lots of science, but still heart pounding action.
