Her writing was really on point when she wrote about her mother, and the story about her mother's horse was one of the best written passages I've ever read in a memoir.

I enjoyed this book. The woman finds hiking to be a therapeutic way to cope with her mom's death.

Amazing! Bernadette Dunn was the perfect narrator for this book (I had a hard time getting used to her voice when I listened to "Under the Never Sky." And then when I finished I listened to the song "Into the Wild" by LP, which would be perfect if this book had a soundtrack. I do love living vicariously through others, given that I'm never likely to hike the Pacific Crest Trail myself.
