I'm in a universe by myself here with this one since virtually every other review I've seen loved this book. In another dimension I probably loved this one. In this dimension... not so much!
To be fair science fiction isn't really my thing, but I had to give it a go after all the attention this book has gotten.
The science fiction part just wasn't for me and I felt the writing was poor but that may be the translation.

This book is entertaining! I was sucked in from the first chapter and was easily able to picture the characters and surroundings of Chicago (even if it sometimes felt random where they ended up - from someone that lived in Chicago for a couple years). However, my biggest issue was that although I could imagine what the characters looked at, they felt flat and one-dimensional to me.
