Charmingly funny, just like Ellen herself. I always find her humor to be silly and endearing, and her book is just like listening to her standup comedy. She does a great job of translating her personality onto the page...it comes through very clearly. I also liked the fact that she seemed to be bringing up issues that are important to her, like recycling or being positive, and although her words are funny and entertaining, there seemed to be some teaching there too. Very light and enjoyable read ...more

I'm not a talk show watcher, so I've only occasionally seen Ellen's show, but I was a fan of hers when she had her sitcom. I've always loved her because she is hilarious and she has the ability to make you laugh regardless of what she is talking about.

I love this book because she talks about whatever seemed to have popped in her head at the moment she was writing. There is no rhyme or reason, it doesn't follow logically, and she has a tendency to go off on a tangent. Still, it's funny. Have you

The best thing about this book is the back cover, where, instead of famous endorsement blurbs, Ellen blurbs about US, her readers! E.g. That’s a beautiful blouse you’re wearing. It goes nicely with this book. / You know what I love most about you? That we get each other. And also your eyes. / You’re my favorite reader. Ever, of all time Shhh…. Don’t tell the other readers.

Don’t get me wrong. I like Ellen DeGeneres. She’s a talented comedian and I’ve

This book didn't solve world hunger or achieve world peace but, I laughed out loud so many times, I lost count. I had the opportunity to listen on audio, so I had the added benefit of hearing Ellen's voice reading her words which I think lent to how much I enjoyed this book. She's so quirky, but she comes across as the friend you always look forward to hanging out with.

Started out good and funny, but really just ended up being so scattered that it drove me nuts. Don't get me wrong, I love Ellen...I think she's cute and quirky and nice, but this book was not for me. ...more

Oh, Ellen. She's hilarious and kept it clean and enjoyable. Although we don't have the same views on certain things, I adore her...the woman, the role model, and the loving and caring person she is. I don't care who you are or your beliefs, everyone should be as kind as Ellen. She hits on some great points layered under her comedic thoughts and rambles. Definitely listen to the audio! ...more
