Ultimately, this book didn't rise (for me) much above being a 'soap opera on Mars'. But I am thinking more fondly about this book now (a year after I read it) than when I read it. I might like it more if I reread it. There definitely some cool things in the book. The school teachers were replaced by machines that had personality. This subtopic (machines as teachers) provided some of the more interesting parts of the book, as one draws parallels to our current educational system. Also, there is a ...more
