OKAY! Can we talk about that ending?! This book had been on my TBR for a while and I had been hesitant to read bc of mixed reviews I’d heard. It took me a little while to get through but towards the end I was hooked. Overall I would rate it 3.8/5 stars and would recommend 📖🌊

This book was written in a style that I can see why maybe some people didn’t like it but for me, I loved it. The chapters were very short and the story was fast-paced. The book was less than 300 pages long and accomplished a lot in those pages.

The story starts out with Cadence telling us about her family and their dynamic and that she had an accident, but one that she did not remember and could not remember any details surrounding it. The Sinclair Family, lived on a private island with each dau This book was written in a style that I can see why maybe some people didn’t like it but for me, I loved it. The chapters were very short and the story was fast-paced. The book was less than 300 pages long and accomplished a lot in those pages.

The story starts out with Cadence telling us about her family and their dynamic and that she had an accident, but one that she did not remember and could not remember any details surrounding it. The Sinclair Family, lived on a private island with each daughter of granddad Harris having their own home built on it for their families. There were 4 younger cousins and 3 older cousins, Cadence, Johnny, and Mirren, but a young boy named Gat was invited to the island one summer to keep Johnny company and then all the summers after that he kept returning to spend the summer with his friends. After her accident she was taken to a local area hospital where they treated her and she was diagnosed with chronic migraines because they thought she hit her head on the rocks that surround the beaches of the island when she took a night swim alone. But the truth is much more heartbreaking.

The family was in a weird spot with where granddad Harris’s inheritance would fall once he passed and all the daughters were fighting arm and leg for it. They wanted their children to be the most impressive for Harris to win him over and guarantee the inheritance. But, the tensions started to grow and threats started swirling around the family. The sisters were going to do anything to guarantee their right to their father’s inheritance, and I mean anything. All the members of the family were on edge and knew something needed to be done. So matters were in the hands of those that had a solution. But would it be worth it in the end?

I truly loved this book and the plot twist shook me. This book dealt with past ghosts, toxic family dynamics, and most importantly memory loss. This book was amazing and I will recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries.

9/10 for me, only cause there were some things I wanted more of ...more

This book was AMAZING.
It took me on such an adventure, and I couldn’t put it down.
Literally, I didn’t actually put it down once until I had finished.
I had heard so many mixed reviews about this book, so wasn’t sure what to expect. But I DEFINITELY was not expecting the ending.
I think this is (clearly) one of the books where some people will love it, some people will not. It either was the highlight of your year or it just didn’t happen for you. But I thought it was incredible, and I almost st ...more
