Shelves: heartbreaking

this book, i sincerely have no words. no one should dare say something against this memoir.
this was deep, heartbreaking, sad, depressing, beautiful, joyful, hopeful. i got so many emotions reading this.

everytime that her mom did something that wasn't human, i wanted to hug her so bad. she was just a child 85% of those times. and it was truly heartbreaking. it makes you think about how celebrities look like they have the best time of their lives, but you can never know nothing. the phrase "don' ...more

Saying that I loved this book seems wrong, since it portrays a life of trauma and abuse. But I loved it because it's very well written and I believe it's important to talk about these topics, and to reveal the truth about the Hollywood industry. And for this, I think Jennette was very brave.

Through the whole book I felt uncomfortable.
And it made me reflect on two main things.

Firstly, how disgusting and traumatizing being a child actor can be.

I am so glad I picked up this book. This was so sad and devastating to read about her experiences as a child and what her mom forced her to do. I had tears in my eyes while reading this. This is one of mhy favorite memoirs I have read and one of my fav books I have read this year! I am wishing the best for her and her experiences in the future! Please Read this book!

Jennette has had to go through so much in her life. Her story is very heartbreaking, but the way she tells it is so powerful. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook, with Jennette herself reading her story. I wish her nothing but peace and joy.
