Okay I finished this last night but I needed 24 hours of reflection time.

Firstly, I finished the book in one sitting. Started before midnight and raw dogged it into the A.M’s.

Secondly, I read this right after I read a different romantasy (which I have 3.25 stars - I wanted to give this 3.5 but it was so starkly different and so much better).

Here’s the dilemma - I still can’t work out a rating. Was it 5 stars? No. It wasn’t even 4 stars, it was more than three stars but that’s now too low. I’m ...more

Overall, this book, the world, and the characters were all so good. At first I found the story very hard to get into, but I did just finish the Throne of Glass series, so I may have another opinion on the next read. The romance seemed a bit forced, and the spice came on like a freight train, but it worked. 😉🥰 The last half kept me on the edge of my seat, and of course, I can't wait to see what happens next. ...more
