I thought I would love this book. Academic rivals to lovers? With an ice-queen heroine and a grumpy hero? That's my type of book.
Sadly, this wasn't any of those things. This wasn't rivals to lovers at all. This was more like a mild dislike to insta-lust to lovers. There was no rivalry. They just had a healthy competition. One slightly bad interaction years ago does not make two people enemies. It does not work like that.

4 Stars JUST FOR THE BANTER ALONE!!
The first have of the story is very captivating but then the second half gets overpowered and overwhelmed by the “sister-to-sister relationship” issues. It went from feeling like a “witty-tension-flirting-teasing” to “depressed-mood-family-issues”…. The “small town feel” does NOT feel like Gilmore Girls Star Hollows Town - just to warn you!
