All I'm saying is; I could be a great 8th husband if Evelyn gave me a chance⎯

Uh hi I almost cried reading this.
I'm not too big into Old Hollywood, but this book made me a lot more interested. Evelyn Hugo felt like a real actress, and I desperately want to see some of her movies. She was messy and complex and ruthless and loving and I loved every bit of reading about her and her friends and lovers throughout the years (I just want to give Harry Cameron a hug ;-;). Also: don't be fooled by the title, this book is super queer! (view spoiler) ...more

im a sucker for old hollywood settings and this book fully expressed its charm and bright lights, while also delving into the darkness behind the scenes. the main character of this book is one of my favorite characters across all books. i fell both in love with this book, and with evelyn hugo and all her scars. taylor jenkins reid is also just too talented and could make even a dmv visit sound enthralling.
if you couldn’t tell, i’m a big fan of this book. tbh it might be my favorite book of all ...more
